*TIP*
When soldering, apply PTFE tape to
the surface of the finger which is in contact
with the work-piece. This will act as a heatsink,
and avoid the possibility of soldering the job
to the clamp |
The
clamp consists of a pair of brass "fingers"
attached to an aluminium angle frame. Pressure
is applied to the components being held, by means
of the adjustable clamp screws. The soft, spongy
pads on the inside faces of the fingers allow
components to be held without damage to fine detail.
For soldering, these fingers are reversed.
