Industrial / light rly. |
The
kits comprise an upper and lower board, separated by
spacers, the upper board having a hole of appropriate
diameter to accommodate the deck. A driving disk, supported
on a roller bearing, carries the deck. Current is fed
to the deck rails by means of a contact disk located
beneath the deck, and spring-loaded carbon pick-up brushes.
A multi-way rotary switch is available to ensure that
current is only fed to the selected track when it aligns
with the deck, and to prevent the locomotive from being
moved whilst the turntable is rotating.
Decking
material (timber planking / metal chequerplating) is
not included with the kit, as the size and section will
vary according to the scale being modelled. Similarly,
deck rails are not included as the rail profile will
be determined by that employed on the layout. Setting
gauges are available to ensure that the deck rails are
positioned centrally.
